Today in History: Mike Bossy’s 50th of 1985

On March 5, 1985, New York Islanders’ right winger,Mike Bossy became the first player in the National Hockey League to score at least 50 goals in eight consecutive seasons.

The game resulted in the Islanders suffering a 5-4 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. The Islanders came back from a two goal deficit in the third period to tie the game. Bossy got the puck in the net with 57 seconds left in the third period and took the game into overtime….. Click the link above to read more
